The Green Venetian Art Craft vase lamp is often mistaken for the Variegated Verde vase from a distance, or by those not familiar with the 12 inch vase lamp styles. The Green Venetian Art Craft vase however has two easily discernable differences which make it easy to identify.

The Variegated paint design on the Green Venetian Art Craft vase, was applied to the inside of the clear glass vase before it was fired, while the Variegated Verde's design was applied to the outside of the vase after the main color was fired on the lamp.

If you touch the outside of the Green Venetian art craft vase it is literaly "as smooth as glass!" If you touch the outside of the Variegated Verde it will feel rough since the finish is on the outside of the glass. Also since the finish on the Green Venetian Art Craft is on the inside of the vase, and smooth glass on the outside, it will shine much more and tend to mirror everything around it. The finish on the outside of the Variegated Verde will not mirror things since it has very little shine. The variegated finish on the outside is similiar to flat paint, so it will make the lamp actually appear dull in color.

Of these two lamps (Green Venetian Art Craft and Variegated Verde) the Green Venetian Art Craft vase lamp in the one that is harder to find.
